On successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to apply for registration as a Mental Health Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). <br/><br/><br/>**About this course:** <br/><br/>Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of others and want to learn to provide outstanding care within mental health services? You will be part of a unique and exciting programme, learning in brand new teaching facilities and in a wide range of clinical placements. Working alongside expert clinical and academic staff, you will have the opportunity to help shape your learning experience. Topics include: <br/><br/><br/>- Applied Human Biology for Nursing <br/><br/><br/>- Introduction to Public Health and Health Promotion <br/><br/><br/>- Developing Professional Relationships in Nursing <br/><br/><br/>- Pharmacology and Medicines Management <br/><br/><br/>- Principles of Mental Health Care <br/><br/><br/>- Complex and Critical Mental Health Care <br/><br/><br/>**Skills:** <br/><br/>On this course, you will gain practical skills and experience through a range of clinical placements, such as: <br/><br/><br/>- Community mental health teams <br/><br/><br/>- Inpatient mental health services <br/><br/><br/>- Primary care (general practice) and private <br/><br/><br/>- And voluntary and independent services. <br/><br/><br/>You will undertake placements focusing on physical care. You will be supported, supervised and assessed during placements by both clinical and academic staff. <br/><br/>You will also spend a significant amount of time learning in our state-of-the-art CSC. These facilities include realistic community and in-hospital settings. Here you will safely practice clinical skills with other students, service users, carers, role players and hi-tech patient simulators under the guidance of experienced clinical and academic staff. <br/><br/>**Career opportunities:** <br/><br/>Mental Health Nursing at Roehampton will give you a strong foundation for your future nursing career.
