Based in Cambridge, Chelmsford or Peterborough, our BEd (Hons) Primary Education with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) offers flexibility to study and teach in a location that suits you.<br/><br/>The BEd (Hons) Primary Education with QTS, combines three years of academic study with three high quality assessed placements in primary schools across the East of England and in London. It’s an exciting, intense, and competitive route into teaching – challenging - but you’ll develop the experience, understanding and confidence to excel in the classroom. We’ll work with you to secure placement that meets your needs and ambitions and you’ll receive a bursary of £10 per day of placement.<br/><br/>Youll be part of a smaller group of trainees at ARU, meaning youll receive a much more personalised training experience that considers your individual needs. It also gives you the chance to get to know us and explore all that we have to offer too. <br/><br/>You’ll experience creating, implementing, and evaluating lesson plans and resources and be fully equipped with the professional skills to create a safe and happy classroom that supports pupils’ learning.<br/><br/>With deep dives into a range of core professional issues including assessment, behaviour management, lesson planning, special educational needs and working well with parents and colleagues, you’ll develop personalised specialisms, finding your own interests and passions in this exciting field of education.<br/><br/>Our degree is aligned with the Department for Education’s Teachers’ Standards and related Core Content Framework, so you’ll be fully prepared for all the requirements to be qualified to teach the 5-11 age range. But more than that, our innovative teaching approaches, like our Ruskin modules and Specialist Focus Project, give you the opportunity to expand your knowledge as a teacher, considering the wider concerns and needs that face children and families within a Primary School and the local community.<br/><br/>You’ll leave our BEd degree having had a wide range of classroom experiences, including school placements each year, building up to taking 80% responsibility for a class in your third year.
